My name is Paul Salley and I am a 23 year old college student in the United States who is currently researching information for a film documentary on guitarist Jimmy McCulloch who was best known for being Paul McCartney's lead guitarist in Wings from 1974-1977. Sadly, he passed away in 1979 aged 26 and has been somewhat forgotten. Any mention of him are blurbs in rock history books & I feel that he deserves better than that.
Over the past four years I've compiled as much information as I can on Jimmy while also contacting as many people as possible. I've gotten in touch with people from every stage of his life (including his family) and have managed to do it all through a computer screen.
If I have any hope of this project getting off the ground, I need to go to the UK. I need to go to the places that were important to Jimmy and talk to the people who knew him face to face.
The problem I have is that I'm a college student living in the United States so money is the issue. I've been able to accomplish so much already and I had the funds to do a research trip to the UK, the project would really take off. If I am unable to go the UK, the project will be nearly impossible to complete.
All of the funds that I receive will be used for a research trip to the UK. Once there, I will go to locations that were important to Jimmy throughout his life and career. I will also get to interview people in person and not just through a computer screen.
The minimum goal that I'm trying to raise is $3000. If you believe in me and what I'm doing in Jimmy's memory, please donate to my paypal account at medicinejar@beatlemail.com.
